At John of Gaunt School we make every effort to ensure that candidates receive the best possible preparation for their exams; that administrative arrangements run smoothly, and that exams are conducted in a way that avoids stress and helps students achieve their best.
The links below will provide information about internal and external exams. We hope this information will help answer the most frequently asked questions as well as guiding and supporting students and parents/carers through the exams process. If students need further information, they are welcome to visit the exams office which is located in the Wingfield building.
Internal Exams for take place in the main exam halls and are conducted in accordance with the regulations laid down by the Joint Council for Qualifications.
External invigilators are employed to supervise the internal exams ensuring students receive the best possible preparation for the formal public exams they will sit in years 11 and 13.

Mock 2: 06/03/2023 - 17/03/2023
Year 13 Internal Exams
Mock 1: 30/11/2022 - 7/12/2022
Mock 2: 20/02/2023 - 01/03/2023 (Y12 AS mocks will also occur during this time)
Reviews of marking and script returns for GCSE and A Level
Please complete the forms below if you wish to request a review of marking or the return of an exam script. There is a charge for this service, please see the information on the form for more details. We strongly advise that you seek advice from a member of teaching staff before you make a decision to apply for a review of marking. Please note that grades can be raised, lowered or maintained as a result of a review.
The deadline for A level priority return of marking is 25th August 2022. This service is only available for A level papers and may be applicable where university places are at stake.
The deadline for non-priority A Level and GCSE requests for a review of marking or a script return is 29th September 2022. Further guidance can be found here: https://www.jcq.org.uk/exams-office/post-results-services/
