Welcome back from the Library

It has been such a pleasure to welcome our students back into the library!

Our new Year 7 students have already made good use of the library and are a joy to have in the library.

The library has a new timetable of usage outside of lesson time to ensure we keep the year group bubbles intact. Most students are starting to get used to it. However, it could make it a little trickier to remember to get a book. To help with this, students can now browse the library catalogue on the school website and can email the library with reservations.

You will find the library under Students – Resources – Library News. On the bottom you will find ‘Browse John of Gaunt Library Catalogue’. Use the ‘search’ bar to look for a book, a series or an author. Student can then email library@jogschool.org to reserve a book.

Reading is Magic Festival 27th September – 2nd October 2020

Some of you may be aware that the super popular Bath Children’s Literature Festival had to be cancelled this year. To fill the gap, Bath Festivals in close partnership with Cressida Cowell have arranged a weeklong festival that is free for everyone, everywhere. There is a jam packed program available with a daily theme. Authors involved include Chris Riddell, Anthony McGowan, Sue Hendra, Robin Stevens, Joseph Coelho, Pamela Butchart, Phil Earle and many more. This is a great opportunity to access a reading festival from home!

All information can be found on their website https://www.readingismagicfestival.com/
